Rising up to the ranks as one of my favorite hardcore records of the year by far.
end of the semester hangs
Missing you dudes like crazy! This was a sweet ass dorm. Those beer bottles in the freezer this past Spring semester was a complete team effort by Kev and yours truly along with some help from many other lovely peeps along the way.
For those looking to hear ‘Cottaging’ from the very-soon-to-be-released Scotland record.
Basement - Animal Nitrate (Suede Cover)
Today my Further Sky 7” came in the mail today and I couldn’t be any happier. I remember a few months ago hearing a lot about the band Suede. Even though I haven’t had much time to give them a full listen, I did find them on Spotify and really liked the few songs I listened to by them. It wasn’t until recently that I found out that Basement was covering them for this EP. I completely fell in love with this cover right away and the original version sounds just as magical. I definitely need to start listening to Suede more for sure.
Since I’ve been getting back into the swing of writing again, I am going to be doing posting up some work daily (or every other day or so). Starting off the weekend, I finished up a review last night on Semiotics debut EP, Simple Requests for the site Fastest Kid in School.
Based out of New Brunswick, New Jersey, this upcoming act at times mirrors the agnsty college rock vibes of Weezer’s Blue Album, while wearing their hearts on their sleeves with a nostalgically-driven pop punk sound in vein of Brand New’s Your Favorite Weapon. Coming to a basement show near you. (FFO: Modern Baseball, Weezer and Brand New).
You can check out my review here.
You can also groove out to their tunes on bandcamp and check them out on Facebook as well.

Featured on this week’s issue of The Aquarian Weekly, I interviewed Chris Broach of the iconic Midwestern emo quartet Braid. This month, they’ve released their first album in over 15 years entitled No Coast on topshelfrecords. You can read the article here. Feel free to give it a read and share it with your friends. If Braid is playing nearby your area, you totally should check them out.
It is very hard to have an actual conversation with your parents about anything in your own home especially whenever you try to openly state your opinion and have them denounce your words as “philosophical bullshit”
…and you probably wonder why I don’t open to you guys or talk to you about anything ever!
fuck the emos
I will never get over this
no no no nO FUCK NO NO
Do this to a Brand New record so everybody will cry about it
